From the boundless plains into the very heart of the mountains, through canyons, past mining camps and alongside foaming moutain streams, the tourist must ascend to obtain a closer view of these purple moutain crests, which form the great watershed of the continent, sending forth eastward and westward impetuous streams which grow into creeks and rivers and dispense life throughout the regions which they traverse. The ascent of Gray's peak forms a fitting sequel to the trip through Clear Creek Canyon and over the "loop."
